What does match the current hour and minute mean?
For example if it is 8:03 AM we randomly select a Book in the Bible and then display Chapter 8 and verse 3 from that Book. As each minute changes on the clock, we re-select a new Book where the Chapter number matches the current hour and the Verse number matches the current minute.

Why build an App like this?
There are many apps that are Bible readers and many apps that display a daily Bible Verse. Our goal is to do something completely different. Yes, this is a great Bible reading App but this app was designed to capture your attention and to inspire you to dig deeper into Chapter and Verse.
[ Top ]

So just watch as Verse changes each minute?
Well.. hopefully you will see there is more than that. Reading a single Bible Verse can really catch our attention. For example, in John 1:37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Don't you want to know more? What happens next? What happened before? Which two disciples? Click on the displayed Verse and the app will take you directly to that Chapter and Verse.

Is it your goal to inspire or to educate?
First and foremost this is a great Bible reading app. Although the Verse is new each minute, we hope you might return to a Verse later to read more or learn more if the displayed Bible Verse inspires you to do so.

Is there a meaning to the Book, Chapter and Verse you display?
No. We randomly select a Book in the Bible which has a Chapter number matching the current hour and a Verse number matching the current minute. We then display that verse. You can click on the displayed Verse and you will be navigated directly to that Chapter and Verse.

Sometimes you display Verse from the Book of Psalms or just a Book description, why?
As we move later into the hour of the day and minutes past the hour there simply are not enough Bible Chapters and Verses to match every hour and minute. For example - there are no Chapter and Verse in any Book matching hour 21 (9 PM) and minute 47 so we display a description of a Book in the Bible. For some later hours we display a Psalm Chapter and Verse for example - hour 21 (9 PM) and minute 50 we display Psalms 50:21.

Which Bible translation is this?
All text comes from a copyright free Public Domain web site source. For a copyright free Public Domain source of a modern translation, we recommend you visit www.ebible.org
[ Top ]

Why did you choose this Bible translation?
We wanted to use a modern translation of the Bible. But there are significant copyright issues involved with modern Bible translations found online. We could not easily and/or economically overcome these issues. In some cases we could not get permission from the copyright owner for our use therefore we had to seek out a copyright free Public Domain source.

The Bible version I use is different than yours?
It probably is. There are many, many translations to choose from and we are not saying one translation is better than another. Please compare the text from this site with your Bible text. Discover why the translations are different.
